OPMC’s favourite e-commerce platform, WooTheme’s WooCommerce WordPress plugin, has hit the 4 million downloads mark.
The announcement comes as the company prepares to release WooCommerce 2.2 later this quarter.
WooCommerce, which is free to download and use, is the flagship product of WooThemes, the most used WordPress ecommerce plugin.

While more e-commerce sites selected WooCommerce to power their web sites over the past 12 months, the results are quite pronounced:
- Approximately 18% of all internet e-commerce sites are powered by WooCommerce
- There are approximately 381,000 e-commerce sites worldwide using WooCommerce
- One of WordPress’s most popular plugins
WooCommerce is free and has official partnerships with companies including Amazon, Mastercard, and PayPal, plus many more.
